The Centre for Public Impact (‘CPI’) is a not-for-profit foundation, funded by The Boston Consulting Group. We are dedicated to improving the positive impact of governments around the world.

All of these programmes have strong research and engagement components. You will join a small team of former BCG strategy consultants and experienced professionals from other fields.

Activities may include:

This internship is open to students and graduates at different levels of academic study, including those in bachelor’s, master’s and PhD programmes. Applicants from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Relevant degrees may include, but are not limited to, political science, public administration, sociology, law, business, design, journalism and computer science.

We look for reliable individuals with:

  • an excellent academic record
  • a demonstrated interest in the workings of government
  • strong research and analytical skills
  • ability communicate effectively verbally and in writing

We are a young and rapidly growing organisation and offer plenty of opportunities for personal development. The position offers the opportunity to attend talks and conferences at other think tanks or universities and to publish some of your own writing. To thrive at CPI you will:

  • bring an entrepreneurial mindset
  • spot relevant opportunities for CPI
  • show initiative

This is a 2-3 month full-time position (40 hours per week) at CPI’s offices in central London. You will be paid £2'000/month and will need to make your own housing, insurance, and transportation arrangements. Note that if applying from abroad, you should ensure that you meet the necessary visa requirements. CPI is unable to act as a sponsor or provide visa support.

The precise start date is negotiable. Relevant dates include:

  • We expect you to begin between 11 and 25 September 2017
  • The closing date for applying to this position is 26 July 2017
  • Interviews will be conducted the week of 31 July 2017 (interviews can be conducted via video, you do not need to be in London that week. Let us know if you are on vacation that week, we can likely work around that)

Our application process has two stages:

  • About you: Here we ask you for some personal details. This information will only become visible to us if you are shortlisted. All applications are assessed blind by multiple reviewers.
  • Short answer questions: Here we ask you to complete five short questions. Once you have completed all these questions you will see a page with all your answers and have the opportunity to amend these before finally submitting your application.
