Bethnal Green Ventures (BGV) is looking for a Communications and Events Intern to join us for six months paid at the London Living Wage. BGV is a leading early-stage ‘tech for good’ investor. We believe technology can radically change people’s lives for the better. Our mission is to help talented teams launch and scale ventures using technology to tackle major social and environmental problems, improving millions of people’s lives. Our internship programme will give you a chance to see how BGV works, to work on our external communications, assist in the development of our tech for good community, and to get involved with the day to day running of our accelerator programme. You will be: * Supporting our Communications Manager with the social media accounts and website for BGV and Tech for Good Global * Organising our events, including the BGV Demo Day; finding a venue, arranging catering, liaising with film crew, managing the invite list and the teams in the lead up to the event * Event management for our Tech For Good meetups; researching and sourcing speakers, organising venues, catering and managing attendees * Helping to run our accelerator programme; getting the space ready for workshops, organising lunches, coordinating speakers, hosting some of the sessions and making sure everyone knows what’s happening and when * Helping to manage our office space and responding to general enquiries **Person specification:** * A great communicator with good writing skills * Shares our values and is excited by the tech for good startup scene * Good at getting stuff done * Willing to muck in with a variety of tasks * Enjoys working in a small highly energetic team * Self starter - get up and go mentality * Desire to develop in a comms and events role **What we can offer:** * An internship paid at London Living Wage with a broad range of experience of working in one of the leading accelerators in Europe. * The opportunity to build relationships with the tech for good community in London and beyond - be they impact investors, startups, policy makers or funders. * The opportunity to have a say in what and where you want to develop while gaining a broad overview of what goes on at Bethnal Green Ventures. * A fun place to work in London (we’re based at Ministry of Startups in Shoreditch). **What we can’t offer you** * We are a small team and we can’t promise you a job with BGV at the end. This internship is designed to give you exposure to all elements of our network, and we hope it will act as a stepping stone to working with one of our alumni startups, funders or investors. The internship is due to run from August 2018.
