At Bethnal Green Ventures, our aim is to inspire, connect and support people who are using technology to solve some of our biggest social and environmental challenges, from supporting an ageing population, to living on a planet of limited resources, from educating our children, to creating healthier communities.

Twice a year we run an accelerator programme. We select and invest in early stage teams using technology to tackle problems in a number of key themes: sustainability, health, education and democracy & society. They are taken through a three month programme of support to help them reach their first investment or customers. But now we’re ready to grow and want to take advantage of the opportunities we have to invest more significant sums and support social ventures at a wider range of stages. We’re backed by the UK Cabinet Office, Nesta, Nominet Trust and Resolution Trust.

Our internship programme will give you a chance to see how it works and get involved with the day to day running of Bethnal Green Ventures. You will support the operational management of our programme and assist in the development of our community. You will be responsible for:

• Assisting with the delivery of our accelerator programme; duties will include setting up the space for workshops and talks, helping to coordinate speakers, making sure everyone is where they need to be during programme and organising catering and for programme events

• Organise Demo Day; duties will include finding a venue, arranging catering and managing the invite list

• Helping to co-ordinate our Tech For Good meetups; researching and sourcing speakers, organising venues, catering and managing attendees

• Helping to manage our office space at Ministry of Startups in Shoreditch

• Contributing content for social media and blog posts

What we can’t offer you

• We are a small team and we can’t promise you a job with BGV at the end. This internship is designed to give you exposure to all elements of our network, and we hope it will act as a stepping stone to working with one of our alumni startups, funders or investors.

The internship is due to run from Monday 30th January until Friday 16th June. We are likely to hold interviews between 5th - 6th January.

The internship will be paid at the London Living Wage (currently £9.75/hour).
